Counselling

Adults

One of the hardest things to do as an adult, is to take steps to care for yourself. Life pulls us in so many directions, and we generally put ourselves to the bottom of that list. I’m here to create a space where you feel you are benefiting and growing while sacrificing that time for yourself. You are the pilot in your own life, and I’m just here to assist and guide when needed. I help clients work through a variety of life challenges and use a therapeutic style to fit your individual needs. If you are ready to make some changes in life, I’m here to help.

Areas I can help with:

  • Grief

  • Anger

  • Coping skills

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Parenting

  • Trauma

  • Difficult relationships

Youth

Youth and young adults who are struggling with challenging decisions, difficult relationships, or navigating their own self-discovery can benefit from time with a counsellor. Building a relationship that encourages autonomy and feels like a safe space is my first goal when I work with youth. From there I enjoy use of art, nature, and play in therapy (yes, our older kids still benefit from play), while allowing the youth to take the lead in session so they get the most from it. I have been working with youth for close to 15 years and enjoy seeing their growth and changes when given the opportunity to blossom.

Issues that youth and young adults may want to work on:

  • Social challenges

  • Peer relationships

  • Gender identity

  • Sexual orientation

  • Emotional regulation

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma

  • Self-confidence

  • Family conflict

  • “Big life” decisions

  • Self-harm

  • Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
